Policies and Procedures

Return/Cancellation Policy:

Returns are permitted upon approval within 10 days of merchandise receipt. The buyer must contact Houghton Horns by phone to obtain approval. Houghton Horns cannot accept a return if it is damaged. Refunds are given in the amount of the purchase price and any sales tax paid, minus a 3.5% restocking fee. Some of this fee can be waived under certain circumstances. Contact Houghton Horns by phone for more information. No refunds can be given for shipping/freight charges. The buyer is responsible for return shipping and applicable shipping insurance fees.

Shipping Policy:

Please allow up to 2 to 3 weeks for delivery of Hans Hoyer instruments. Other in-stock items ship within 1-2 business days. The buyer will be notified within 1 business day if an item is out of stock or back ordered. Orders for out of stock items may be canceled or placed on hold until the merchandise becomes available. Houghton Horns is not responsible for damage to merchandise occurring in shipment. Houghton Horns provides shipping insurance on all orders. The buyer is responsible for filing appropriate claims with the shipping provider in the event of shipping damage. By placing an order with Houghton Horns, the buyer indicates acceptance of the damage claim policies of the selected shipping service providers. UPS Ground and USPS Express Mail are available for instrument purchases. UPS Ground typically delivers within 3-4 business days. USPS Express Mail delivers next business day to most locations.

Procedures for Custom Horn Orders:

To place a custom order for an Engelbert Schmid instrument or bell flare, fill out our custom order form and submit it online or email your order to info@houghtonhornsllc.com and an associate will contact you with a quote. All quotes include international and domestic shipping charges, import fees and applicable sales tax. If you need help or have questions about different options available, call us at 817-479-3266. After receiving your quote, contact us to confirm your order. A 10% non-refundable deposit is due at the time your order is confirmed. The deposit is payable by check or credit card. Your deposit must be received before the quote expiration date to guarantee your price at the current exchange rate. Orders confirmed on or before the 20th day of the month will be processed in the same calendar month with delivery in approximately 8-10 weeks. Orders confirmed after the 20th day of the month will be processed in the following calendar month with delivery in approximately 12 weeks. Invoices must be paid in full before your instrument ships from the factory. Our preferred payment method is check or wire transfer. Credit card payments are accepted for amounts up to $4,000. Any remaining balance must be settled by personal check, money order, cashier's check or wire transfer. Customers requesting payment by wire transfer may be eligible for an invoice credit up to $30 to cover bank fees.
